Ryan Mitchell Wyre

December 1, 1994 to November 28, 2022 Ryan Mitchell Wyre, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on November 28th a few days shy of his 28th birthday. Ryan is survived by his adoring mother, Carrie McDougal Wyre, his loving father, James Otis Wyre, II (Toni), three loving siblings, Kaitlyn Wyre, Madison Wyre and Garrett Wyre, and his doting grandparents, Kathy McGehee (Carl), Benny McDougal, Martha Wyre and Betty Bundy, and his Aunt Shelley McDougal, Great-Aunts Vicky Lovston and Melanie Lovston, Great-Uncle Buddy and Aunt Kim Wyre, and Great-Aunt Rebecca Reagan. He also leaves behind several cousins and a lifetime worth of wonderful friends. He was a loving brother, son and friend to everybody he met. Any who knew Ryan was a fan of his charisma and charm. He had a big heart and was a fierce friend. Ryan loved to laugh and was always ready with a clever quip or witty remark. He lit up the room and left every place happier than he found it. He was an accomplished stage actor and singer and had majored in Drama at Hendrix College. Ryan would go on to perform in several productions at The Pocket Theater and many other performance and musical stages in Hot Springs. He has been a bright light throughout is his life – he attended Arkansas Governor’s School, was a Duke Talent Search kid, and was even named “Bandsman of the Year” at Hot Springs High School. Ryan enjoyed the marching band and was a Drum Major. He played many instruments including the bass guitar, guitar, drums, trumpet and flugelhorn. Ryan was a bartender at The Bourbon Bar at 501 Prime steakhouse in Hot Springs and enjoyed meeting new people, who became instant friends. You may have also been served by him at the Splash Wine Bar, SQZBX, and The Ohio Club. He never met a stranger. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing various video games, playing the bass guitar, and writing and singing music with and for his friends. But most recently, he was especially proud of his winning fantasy football picks. Ryan left us too soon. He was lion-hearted and loyal. He struggled to find his path but valued his accomplishments and took pride in doing a great job – he loved his work families and 501 Prime and previous serving positions all over town. The world lost a bit of its light with Ryan’s passing. The family acknowledges and expresses gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of love and affection. The viewing/visitation will be held at Hot Springs Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2nd. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3rd with a celebration of Ryan’s life to follow at 501 Prime from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Ryan will be cremated, so there will not be a burial service.
