Margaret Holiman

Margaret E. Holiman went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 23, 2012. She was born on February 1, 1914 in Hot Springs to Frank and Frances Steigler. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her husband of seventy years, Alan Holiman, one son, Frank Holiman, three great grandchildren, Lyndie Life Thompson, Whitney and Kourtney White, one sister, Virginia Robinson and a brother, Charles D. Steigler, Sr. Margaret was the owner of the Holiman Antiques for a number of years. She was a member of Central Bapitst Church since 1925, where she worked for many years with the children and young people and was a soprano soloist in the choir. She was a member of the Whitfield Garden Club, the American Rhododendron Society, past president of the Sesame and Good Earth Garden Clubs. She received the first award given by the Garland County Beautification Committee for Residential Property Improvement in 1986. She was an avid gardener and won many awards in design and horticulture in local flower shows. Margaret is survived by a son Robert Alan Holiman and his wife Cindy of Heber Springs, a daughter, Susan Hall and her husband Don of Hot Springs, grandchildren, Laura (Scott) Thompson,Robin Zaner, Alan (Robin) Kraha, David (Tonya) Holiman Kristen Fox and Heather (Arnie) Bull, great grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah and Nicholas Thompson, Tyler (Andrea) Kraha, Tiffany Kraha, Jetta Kilpatrick, Neal Kilpatrick, Madison and McKenzie Holiman, James and Megan Bull and great-great grandchildren, Elissa and Michael Kraha and baby Avalee. Also surviving are relatives, Dr. James (Delores) Holiman, Helen George Bolt, Ron (Carolyn) Robinson, Raymond (Marilyn) Robinson, Judy (Ray) Farrell, Charles D. (Robin) Steigler, Jr. and Diane (Bill) Jarrell. She leaves special friends Judy and Gene Van Frank, Carolyn and Dick Masek, Patsy Searcy, the ladies of the Sewing Club, and many other friends and family members. Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Harris, Reverend Coy Sample and Dr. James Holiman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. Wednesday until service time. Memorials have been designated to Central Baptist Church, 1035 Central Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71901.
