Kenneth Landers

Kenneth Landers, 81, of Crystal Springs, earned his wings on April 4th 2023. He was born October 14th, 1941, to Kenneth and Leona Landers in Murray IA. Ken as he was known, had a very full life that began with an enlistment in the Navy. As a machinist mate he serve his duty aboard the “Yorktown”. This service would set the tone for the rest of his life. After hitchhiking back to IA Promptly enrolled in college. During his tenure he would go on to be a president of his fraternity and acquire a degree in accounting with the help of a “ten key adding machine”. This would lead him to the IRS where he worked diligently as a revenue agent in Kansas City, Chicago, Memphis and finally Little Rock. Dillard’s and ABF were never the same after he got done with them! He did all of this while raising 3 children proudly; two beautiful daughters that he adored and a mirror image son that he cherished dearly as well. Upon retirement he spent his days on lake Ouachita as a boat captain, Car shows/trips with His 1975 Caprice, Tax preparer for “landers tax service”, pitmaster and bartender. Ken had the type of personality in which he never met a stranger and was ALWAYS willing to lend a hand. His laugh filled the room and shortly made everyone else laugh too. A man of many stories and sayings, some true and some possibly not! He always had sayings and his quick wit would always leave people laughing and shaking their heads. His sense of style was impeccable. You’d be hard pressed to find him not looking great no matter what day it was, and smelling even better by his trademark cologne. Ken was undeniably a great man, and they definitely broke the mold after they made him-, not going to be another like him. His absence created a “Grand Canyon” sized void that will never be filled. His uncanny ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive and most importantly love will be forever ingrained in ALL he touched. Ken leaves behind a loving wife (Ruth), Three sisters (Marti, Shirley, Nancy) Three children (Kelley, Kimberly, Kenny), Numerous grandkids and great grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews and the friends that made his life PERFECT. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Leona. Visitation will be 1:00 - until service time at 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Service to be held at Hot Springs Funeral Home, Saturday April 15th 2pm. In lieu of Flowers, please donate to VVO of Hot springs.
