Cheryl Lynn Hatmaker

Cheryl Lynn Powell Hatmaker, 59, of Hot Springs went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 7, 2025. She was born on August 1, 1965, to the late Charles and Faye Powell of Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and sister and loved by so many! In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Adam Hatmaker, brother, Bobby Powell and his wife Sherry, and brother-in-law Michael Lyons. Survivors include her son Cody (Whisper) O’Dell, daughter Holly Davis (Nick), Melissa (Jason) Quast, Kristy Hatmaker, and her beloved service dog, Thunder; grandchildren Evelyn, Novalie, Charlie, Sarah, Ethan, Brody and Berklee, her sisters Donna Lyons and Janet (Esmaeil) Adineh-Kharat, and honorary brother, Don Crosley, and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews she loved dearly. She retired from the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center/Arkansas Rehabilitation Services after 34 years where she was a purchasing agent. When she met Jimmy, she became an avid outdoors person and loved to hunt and travel alongside him all across the state and country. She loved horses and riding, and maybe because of their love of the outdoors and horses, Cheryl and Jimmy started riding motorcycles together with friends from the Rehab. When she wasn’t running around seeing new sights, or shopping sales, she loved to be at home cuddling her children and grandchildren. She was always active in arts and crafts, including mosaics, leatherworking, macrame, paints and woodworking, as well as decorating her flower gardens with memorials to those she loved that had passed on before, always excelling in the things she loved and found beauty in. She lived, loved, and treasured her husband and his family, and all of her dear friends, with the purest of love from God. She loved her Lord and Savior and showed the love of God to those she met. Cheryl was a strong and persevering woman, and with her faithful service dog, Thunder, she felt she could weather any storm. Although she is no longer with us, it wasn’t the cancer that won – having fought through four bouts of cancer over 20 plus years – she came out victorious through the grace of God. Visitation will be at Hot Springs Funeral Home on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Hot Springs Funeral Home with Bro. Don Crosley and Bro. Travis Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Cemetery on Highway 70 East. Serving as pallbearers are Majid Adineh-Kharat, Johan Adineh-Kharat, Abraham Adineh-Kharat, Zach Lyons, Travis Robinson and Evan Robinson.
