Billy Sim Sisler

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Billy Sim Sullivan Sisler. She was the fifth child born to Charley Jackson Sullivan and Gladys Tedford Sullivan. She entered this world in the family home in Nashville, Arkansas, on April 21, 1941, and passed peacefully at the age of 84 on November 19, 2025, in Hot Springs. Billy is survived by her loving children: daughter Jamie Sisler MacDonald (Oscar) and son Brian Sisler (Terri); along with three cherished grandchildren: Alexander MacDonald, Zoe Sisler, and Kody Sisler (Emma). She is also survived by her sister, Pam Caldwell; her brother, Jimmy Don Sullivan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Juanita Catherine Jones, Virginia Ray Flaherty, Charlie Nell Dellinger, Berta Sue Spicer, Jackie Ann Stout, Mary J. Woodruff, and Rebecca Sullivan; and her brothers Charles R. Sullivan and Edwin Sullivan. After graduating from Nashville High School in 1959, her early career with the telephone company brought her to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she met and married Robert Sisler. Together they raised their family in Lombard, Illinois. While there, Billy graduated from George Williams College with a Bachelor of Science degree and began her career in Parks and Recreation. In retirement, she returned to Hot Springs in her cherished native state of Arkansas. She was a beloved member of First Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Known throughout her community for her selfless volunteer work, Billy devoted countless hours to helping those in need. She volunteered for many years at Garvan Woodland Gardens, the Bargain Box at First Presbyterian Church, and Jackson House food pantry. Billy was a passionate wanderer and music lover at heart, cherishing the thrill of travel to far-flung corners of the world. Her adventures even took her to Paris to enjoy the laid-back melodies of Jimmy Buffett. She treasured time with her many friend groups—playing cards, hiking in nature, and pursuing her much-loved passion for bird watching. Energetic and spunky to the end, Billy will be most remembered for her unwavering adoration of her family, which was the true anchor of her joyful life. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
