Sue Pate Lucky

September 26, 1934 - March 30, 2022

Sue Pate Lucky, 87, passed away in her sleep on March 30, 2022. She was born in Springfield, Missouri on September 26, 1934 to the late Lester and Emma Pate. Shewas preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Wayne Lucky, her brother, Jack and Velton Pate, her sister-in-law, Ester Pate, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Mary Lucky and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Pat Lucky. Sue was a devoted Christian and a member of Central Baptist Church where she served on numerous committees. She grew up in Malvern, Arkansas and graduated from Malvern High School. She attended Baylor University where she received her undergraduate degree and her Masters degree. While at Baylor she was class representative, homecoming royalty, in the Athenean Club and a member of Kappa, Kappa Gamma. Sue was an outstanding educator teaching in Hillsboro, Texas and retiring from Galena Park Schools after a long, successful career and being selected as Outstanding Educator. Sue loved playing tennis with her family and friends. She was a member of Athena, P.E.D. and Criterion. She is survived by one son, Donald (Gretchen) Lucky, one daughter, Lynn (Luke) Mulloy, her grandchildren, D.W. Lucky III (Kalkidan), Erika(Curt) Binger, Mason Mulloy, Lauren (Colin) Brown and great-grandchildren, Bob and Luke Lucky, Jack Pate and nieces, LeeAnn Tritico and Lou Beth Clondt. A private burial was held on April 2 at Oakridge Cemetery in Malvern, AR. In memory of Sue please donate to the charity of your choice.
