Ronald Wayne Payton died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 8, 2017 after a 21 year battle with Parkinson Disease. He was born December 31, 1943 in Little Rock to the late, Joe & Susie Payton. Ronnie was a 1962 graduate of Hot Springs High School, and later a graduate of Arkansas Tech University. In April 1985 he was registered as a Certified Public Accountant, working in both the public and private sectors as a CPA. He was a member of the A.I.C.P.A. and the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Ronnie also served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed many activities including bowling, golfing, horseracing, fishing and basketball & football. Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Trisha” Payton; son, Britt (Chasity) Payton; daughter, Erin (Kevin) Varner; grandchildren; Cade Payton, Ben Varner, Evan Payton and Mary Kate Varner; brother, Richard “Bubba”(Glenna) Payton; sister-in-law, Linda Robbins; several aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Reverend Justy Smith officiating. Pallbearers are Britt Payton, Blair Petty, Kevin Varner, Cade Payton, Evan Payton and Ben Varner. A special thanks to Judy Stueve for her loving care of Ronnie and Joe during their illnesses. Additional thanks to all of the caring staff at Hospice Home Care who assisted with Ronnie’s care at home over the last seven years.
