Richard Byrd, 59, of Hot Springs passed away Monday May 8, 2017 at a local hosptial. He was born July 20, 1957. Richard worked for Mayflower Moving Company for many years. He attended Langston High School. Preceded in death by his mother, Hallie Byrd; three sisters, Jessie Mills Smith, Florene Byrd and Heneritta Reed. Survivors include one son, Richard Byrd Jr. of Hot Springs; two daughters, Amanda Byrd and Shelina Easter both of Hot Springs; one brother, Cleophus Byrd of Hot Springs; three sisters, Lena Byrd, Jo Anna Byrd both of Hot Springs and Mary Reed of Chicago, Illinois; one stepdaughter, Lanetia Jackson of Hot Springs; four grandchildren; his longtime partner, Alneita Walters of Hot Springs; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Services will be 12:00 PM Saturday May 13th at Hot Springs Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Timmons officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The family will be at 405 Silver Street.
