Nathalie Ann Martin

February 14, 1928 - January 5, 2021

Nathalie Ann Martin went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2021, at the age of 92. She was born on February 14, 1928, in Hot Springs, Ar., to William E. (Mickey) and Annette Wakowitz Martin. At the time of her death, Nat had the distinction of being the second oldest baptized member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was active for years in the St. Mary’s choir and in recent times in the “Hands of Mary” women’s group. She was also a long-time volunteer at the Garland County Historical Society. To say that Nat had an outgoing personality would be an understatement. In fact, she never met a stranger and will always be remembered for her witty and fun-loving nature. Nat was affectionately referred to either as “Cuz” by the Favorites and Meggers or “Aunt Nat” by the Elsers and others. In social gatherings, she was quick to introduce herself as the “Rich” Aunt Nat. She will be sorely missed by a wide circle of friends and by all who knew and loved her. Nat was preceded in death by her parents; her brother William, “Bill” and sister-in-law Mary L Webb Martin; a niece Mickey Ann and husband Gene Randle. She is survived by a niece Pat and husband Dennis Cherry; a great niece; three great nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, Jan. 9, at 11:00 a. m. with a rosary recited at 10:30 a. m. Both will be livestreamed at facebook.com/stmaryofthesprings. The celebrant will be her godson, Rev. Bill (Will to her) Elser. Pallbearers will be Jim, Danny, and Mark Elser, J. R. Ross, Joe Bill Morton, and Joseph Henderlong. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with arrangements by Hot Springs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to the Garland County Historical Society.
