Mary "Iola" Meehan

Mary “Iola” Rohr Meehan passed away September 6, 2017. She was born in Kankakee, IL. She lived in Lombard, IL and worked as a beloved school secretary for many years before retiring and moving to Hot Spring Village. She was preceded in death by her dear granddaughter Callie, son Brian, her husband of 55 years Durl Rohr, and her second husband of 13 years John Meehan. She will be dearly missed by her sons and daughter-in-law’s Bruce (Linda), Jeff (Marcia) and Matthew, granddaughters Emily and Julia, step children Mike, Scott and Greg Meehan, Julie Spanos, Debbie Hallock and their families. Iola had a zest for life, accumulating friends wherever she went. When not reading or playing bridge she volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital and Potters Clay. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hot Springs Village. Iola donated her body to science, so the family will hold a funeral service at a later date in Kankakee, IL.
