While surrounded by loved ones, Margaret (Marge) Harrison Hubbard was called by Jesus to her Heavenly home December 23, 2019 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Born September 22, 1930 in Hazen, Arkansas, Marge was 89 year old. She is survived by daughters Barbara Toivonen (John) of Lindale, TX, Brenda Boston (Phillip) of Rowlett, TX, and son Bruce Hubbard (Jann) of Hot Springs; 8 grandchildren: Gus Papageorge, Stefani Papageorge Webb (James) Genifer Papageorge Jones (Alan), Andrew Toivonen (Lynn Marie), Melissa Messersmith Diffee (Gary) Bryan Messersmith (Kate) Joshua Hubbard, Austin Hubbard (Taylor); 12 great-grandchildren: Katelyn Papageorge, Taylor Webb, Coby and Allison Jones, Annabelle Toivonen, Matthew Isaac, Harrison, Brenna Diffee, Bradyn Messersmith, Rowan and Levi Hubbard; brother Joe Harrison (Betty) of Hot Springs, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marge was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Harrison; mother Lillian House Harrison; step-mother Ruth House Harrison; brothers Buford Harrison (Kay), Raymond Harrison (Dorothy); Troy Harrison; Marian Craig (Jean); Frank Craig ( Pearl); sisters Mary Harrison, Susie Harrison Payton (Joe), Ruth Craig Tull (Windell) and Hazel Craig Tinsley (Ott). Marge was also preceded in death by William (Bill) Cress, the love of her life. Marge was an executive secretary for the District Attorney in Richmand, California where she received many awards and accolades for her outstanding contributions. While living in Dallas, TX she acquired her real-estate license and sold under Marge Hall & Associates. Once she returned to her beloved Hot Springs National Park she worked as a para-legal for Q Byrum Hurst, Q Byrum Hurst Jr and SkyTapp, was the co-owner of MP Associates doing stenography court reporting and depositions, was on the board of Hot Springs Water and Zoning Commission, volunteer for the Election Commission for several years, on the Hot Springs Planning Commission and retired as Secretary to the Post Master of the Hot Springs Post Office. She was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. Marge had many interests in life. She loved to cook and garden. She had a great love of reading, both for pleasure and to quench her thirst for knowledge. Her immense passion was in the history of Arkansas and family genealogy. She served as past President of the Garland County Historical Society, past President of the Arkansas Genealogy Society. She was editor and contributor at large for The Record, published by the Garland County Historical Society. Marge provided countless volunteer hours at The Melting Pot of Hot Springs. In addition she provided help to anyone on a search for family history. Marge’s utmost joy came from her family and friends and being involved in their lives. She was always there to take care of anyone she could. Service to others and her community brought her a lot of happiness. A celebration of life service will be held at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 2963 Airport Rd, Hot Springs, Arkansas Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 2:00pm. The family invites everyone to this celebration of Marge and welcomes any stories of Marge to be shared. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to The Caring Place of Hot Springs scholarship fund. Marge spent many hours there in the fellowship of others.
