Kinley Ray, Jr. of Hot Springs, AR passed away on July 11, 2016. He was born November 8, 1944. His parents were Kinley and Jimmie Ray of Earle, AR. He graduated from Earle High School in 1962, where he played football, basketball and ran track. He was also the president of the Latin Club. He graduated from Arkansas State University in 1967 with a degree in business administration. He was a member of Sigma Pi social fraternity. In 2002 he also graduated from Southwest Tennessee Community College with a degree in paralegal studies, with a concentration in real estate. At Southwest he was a member of the honorary grade society Phi Beta Kappa and the honorary business grade society of Alpha Beta Gamma. He was a member of the Presbyterian faith and an entered apprentice Freemason. He worked as a material specialist at a plant that manufactured explosives for the military during the Vietnam War. He later was in the boat business in southwest Florida. Then, he was an investment banker in Memphis, TN. Later, he became a restaurant manager. However, the job that he loved the most was when he was employed by the Garland County Juvenile Court. He loved fishing, boating, Arkansas state University, sporting events and watching old westerns on TV. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sommer Ray Rooney. He is survived by his son, Kinley Ray III; four grandchildren, Jessica Lucius, Corey Lucius, Kinley Ray IV and Michelle Lucius; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Sommer Lucius. The family requests that all memorials be in the form of donations to St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, TN. There will be two memorial services. The first in Hot Springs, AR will be held on Saturday July 23 at Sun Bay Resort, 4810 Central Ave, from 1:30 pm with a reception after until 4:30. The second will be held at The Five Spot, 84 G.E. Patterson Avenue Memphis, TN 38103 on Monday, August 1 starting at 2:00 pm with a reception after until 7:00.
