James Earl “Dutch” Howard, 91, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away, Monday, December 6, 2021. He was born October 17, 1930 in Hot Springs to the late James Mitt & Loretta Nielson Howard. He served during the Korean War in the Army as a company clerk and was retired as a customs agent for the Federal government in Houston, Texas & Galveston, Texas. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Marie Anne Nix; brother, Bill Howard and niece, Patti Bayless. Survivors include his nephew, Duke Nix; nieces, Robin Nix, Lori Voss, Lexie Wilson Buell, DeeDee Rabenau, Jacelyn Boatman and numerous great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 PM, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Private burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of English Muffin, staff of Greg’s Rise & Dine, Brookfield Assisting Living and Dr. Mark Lefler & staff. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Garland County Historical Society or the Humane Society of Garland County.
