Eloise Mead Oakley Fox, age 87, of Hot Springs, formerly of Pine Bluff went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2016. She was born June 26th, 1929 in Palmyra, Arkansas, daughter of Treavor Thomas and Virginia Sue Mead. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Edward Oakley, and second husband, James Campbell Fox, her parents and granddaughter, Lauren Anita Chadick. She is survived by three daughters and sons in law, Judith Virginia Gober, wife of Dr. John D. Gober, Chesapeake, Virginia; Karen Lee Chadick, wife of Dale A. Chadick, Hot Springs and Donna Mead Love, wife of William L. Love; step granddaughter Abbey Love, daughter of William L. Love of Bull Shoals, Arkansas; two grandsons, Joshua T. Gober and Austin L. Chadick; two granddaughters, Meredith W. Gober and Tara M. Beech; one sister and brother-in-law, Lee Etta and Bob May of Collierville, Tennessee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Ann Mead of Texarkana, Arkansas and Mack and Julie Mead of Seattle, Washington. She was a 1947 Graduate of Glendale High School, Glendale, Arkansas and 1948 Graduate of Brown's School of Business, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She married Harold Edward Oakley of Star City, Arkansas in 1950 and worked as Secretary for Fox Brothers Hardware Company, Pine Bluff, Arkansas for 35 years. She married James Campbell Fox in 1985 and moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Eloise was a volunteer tutor for Jefferson County Literacy Council, a member of Pine Bluff Porcelain Artists, National Association of Executive Secretaries and the National Federation of Floral Arranging. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs. She enjoyed traveling, painting, reading, flower arranging and most of all entertaining her precious grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 27th at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 1100 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Children's Garden, Garvan Woodland Gardens, P0 Box 22240, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71903. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Hospice Home Care and a very special thank you to Taylor Hethcox.
