Bettye Jarrell

June 10, 1944 - July 10, 2016

Bettye Bayless Jarrell, of Hot Springs, met her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 10th, 2016, at the age of 72. Bettye was born on June 10th, 1944, in Hot Springs to the late Joe and Rado Bayless. She is preceded in death by her four siblings, Virginia Walker, Joe Bayless, John Bayless, and Imogene Mason. Her spirit is carried on through her loving husband – Ronald Jarrell, two daughters and sons-in-law– Karma Turner (Stephen), Stacey McGuire (Donnie), six grandchildren – Lauren Kirschner (Matthew), Cassi Kyle, Philip Clamon, D.J. Webb, John Turner, Sarah Fallin (Shaun), and four great-grandchildren – Hayden, Gibson, Maddox and Nixon. She is also survived by twin siblings Ray Bayless (Norma) and Maye Garner, as well as too numerous to list much-loved and not forgotten nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. On October 23, 1964, Bettye married her sweetheart, Ronald Jarrell. They opened their home and hearts to everyone in their lives. They lived a life of adventure travelling across the country, sharing their love for boat racing, golf, and sports – especially her Razorbacks. Bettye never met a stranger and always gave all she had to anyone in need. She possessed a true servant’s heart and was always there for those in need of comfort, advice, a warm hug, or a good laugh. Her gift of joy and spunky sense of humor will never be forgotten and will continue to shine through her family. Bettye adopted each and every person she met into her family and treated them as her own. She was a rock of faith; always pouring into those she knew. She was actively involved in her church, community, and the lives of extended family and friends. Bettye loved first and asked questions later. Her life serves as a shining example of unrelenting faith and what it truly means to love like Christ. Visitation with the family is Wednesday, July 13th, from 5:30 - 7:00 pm, and her celebration of life will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 14th, both taking place at First Pentecostal Church, 222 E. Grand Ave., Hot Springs, AR. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. Bettye’s beloved grandchildren Lauren, Matthew, Philip, Cassi, DJ, and John are honored to serve as her pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Our Promise Cancer Resources” (www.ourpromise.info). For their compassionate care, many thanks to Dr. Divers, Dr. Muldoon, the nurses and staff at Genesis Cancer Center, and the kind-hearted nurses and doctors at St. Vincent Hospital and Arkansas Hospice. “Goodnight, God Bless you, pleasant dreams, I love you.”
