Ann Tyler

July 21, 1924 - March 2, 2016

On March 5, 2016 the joyful soul of Ann Tyler, 91, of Hot Springs passed into her heavenly home. She was born in Windsor, Canada on July 21, 1924 to George and Teresa Macko, the middle child of nine. She married the love of her life, Charlie in 1946. Together they owned and operated the Motel Capri. She was one of the original “Birthday Girls”, loved horse racing, fishing on Lake Hamilton, her time as a Pink Lady at St, Joseph’s and the Caring Place. She brought joy to all she met and was never without her special smile. She especially was loved by those who called her Nannie---her Grands. Noted for her cute remarks, “Nannieisms”, she could make you LOL. “Whee Doggies” was a favorite. She loved you unconditionally. We’ll miss you, Sweet Nannie, “the Angels are singing for you.” Ann was predeceased by her husband, parents and seven siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Saundra (Paul) Meeks of Little Rock and David (Karen) Tyler of Hot Springs, her precious grandchildren, Kerri, Lori, Kamie, Brandon, Michael, Matthew and Mandi, eighteen great-grandchildren. Also, a sister, Helen (Adam) Eckert of Windsor Canada and a brother-in-law, Clyde Tyler of Dothan, Alabama. Visitation will be Sunday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 A.M. in the Hot Springs Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Polk officiating. Pallbearers will be John Samuels, Jonathan Samuels, Bart Vollmer, Stuart McLendon, Adam Stone and Michael Meeks. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made by donating a book to a library or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of The Caring Place, Garrett Manor, The Pines Nursing Home and Rehabilitation and Arkansas Hospice.
