Abbie Jones

September 1, 1915 - August 25, 2016

The late Abbie Jones was born on September 1, 1915 in Parksdale, Arkansas to the union of Henry and Mary Penn Jackson. She was predeceased in death by Nathaniel Robinson, Sr., Lawyer C. Hellen, and Robert Jones; son, Jay Dee Robinson, Sr., daughter-in-law, Bunnie D. Robinson, grandson Gregory L. Robinson, granddaughter, V. Yvonne Brandy Porter and step daughter, LuDora Rucks. Abbie completed her formal education in Cleveland, Ohio, later attended Burchett’s Beauty College, became a licensed cosmetologist and worked in this profession for 60 plus years. She was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1960 and worked dutifully as a part time pioneer and later full time pioneer as her health allowed. Survivors include her son, Nathaniel Robinson, Jr. of Hot Springs, AR., a daughter-in-law, Wendy Robinson, of Maywood, IL., step-daughter, Juanita Wells of Chicago, Il., grandsons, Terry B. Robinson of Tacoma, WA., Jay Dee (Corenda) Robinson of Maywood, Il, James Thomas of Seattle, WA, granddaughters; Demetre (Lonnie) Harris of Durham, N.C, Jennifer Reed of Montgomery, IL., Sallie H. Robinson of Hot Springs, AR., Mary (Mike) Reed of Peoria, IL., Patricia Berry of Houston, TX., 15 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, extended family and friends. Memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses; 4745 Butterfield Road, Bellwood, IL 60104 with Mr. Floyd Carnell officiating.
