Norma Lee McPheeters

Norma Lee McPheeters, age 94 of Fairview, TN passed Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 4:15PM. She was born on December 27, 1923 in Nardin, Oklahoma on a family farm. Her parents William Tennison Porter and Ethel Beal Porter had 7 children. She will be 95 on the 27th of this month, being the last of the children, Sisters Theda Turner and Wanda Moore, Brothers Lowell, Theral, Billy and Jack Porter. Norma was married to Ira Lee (Jiggs) McPheeters in Oklahoma having two children, Rodney Wayne McPheeters and Luwana Sue McPheeters. They moved to Hot Springs, AR in 1954 by Fred Jones Mfg. Company. She resided in Hot Springs until her 90th birthday and then moved to Tennessee with her daughter. It was a hard decision to leave her home on James that she had built and lived in for 55 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Ira L. (Jiggs) McPheeters and her son, Rodney McPheeters. Her survivors include her daughter, Luwana McPheeters of Fairview, TN, 4 grandchildren, Kimberly Bettis of Phoenix, AZ, Kristina Becklerleg of Anchorage, AK, Kourtney McPheeters of Sterling, VA, Jaime Keeling of Saugerties, NY, 7 great grandchildren, Zane Bettis, Zara Bettis, Karsen Beckerleg, Hayden Beckerleg, Taylor McPheeters, Tyce McPheeters and Tristan McPheeters. Norma, AKA Grandma, G-ma, Normie, Miss Mc, and Momma Mc. Was always quite the character known for her laugh, that loved to play games, never liked to be too serious about anything, loving to have good time. She had a love for painting ceramics that lead her to become a ceramtist leading to the ownership of a store front for ceramics and attending Arts & Craft shows to sell her ware. Her other hobbies included cross stitch, crossword puzzles, solitaire and finally the Matriarch of Face Book and online Solitaire. Norma leaves behind a daughter, grandchildren, nieces and nephews that love her dearly. Not to mention all who met her loved her spunk and sassiness. Since she never went anywhere before noon, her graveside service will be at 1:00 on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Crestview. She will be at Hot Springs Funeral Home until that time. The attending family will be at the Arlington Board Room for Dinner at 5:00. Please come say hello if you are so inclined….We love to talk, we got it from her.
