Mary Louise Brown

Mary Louise Brown, beloved daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, was born in Hot Springs, AR on December 21, 1957. She was the youngest daughter of seven children born to Lester B. Brown Sr. and Eria J. Brown. She passed away December 11, 2023 at the young age 65. She was preceded in death by her father and her mother. She is survived by her loving daughter, LaQuinta Washington (Corey) of Little Rock, AR, sisters, Regina White (Clemon) of Alexander, AR, Marsha Jordan (Kenneth) of Sherwood, AR, and Arlean Green of Hot Springs, AR; brothers, Lester Brown Jr of Little Rock, AR, Eddie John Brown of Hot Springs, AR and Eric Brown of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Jasmine Washington, Jordan Washington, Van Corey Washington Jr, and Kimorah Washington; two great-grandchildren, Jursee Washington and Nova Cleveland and a host of nieces and nephews. Louise was a graduate of the class of 1976 at Hot Springs High School. She would later complete her degree in accounting at National Park Community College. She was a dedicated city employee with the local water company for over 34 years. She started her career there as a Billing Clerk and retired as a Billing Coordinator in 2016. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for forty plus years and she always tried to exemplify love towards all. She loved going in the door-to-door ministry to teach others about Jehovah. There is so much that could be said about Louise, but the one thing that comes to mind is how mild-tempered and kind she was. She had a gentleness that attracted so many people to her. Mary was a genuinely kind person that never said an ill word about anyone. Louise was a devoted single mother and the love of her life was her daughter, LaQuinta. She enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and even drove miles to see them play in their different sporting events. She was considered the “Fun Aunt” to her nieces and nephews. They enjoyed baking, going swimming, shopping and bowling when they spent time with her. She especially enjoyed quality time with her family and friends. They would get together and play card games, dance and laugh the night away. She was also known for making the best cakes in Hot Springs. Louise was one of a kind and her love for her family was unmatched, she will forever be remembered for her laughter, kindness and her love for Jehovah. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Hot Springs Funeral Home.
