Johnny Mack Vinson

Johnny Mack Vinson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on January 22, 2024, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 82. Born on March 17, 1941, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Johnny was the son of Haskel and Ruby Vinson. Johnny's life was one filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He was preceded in death by his parents, Haskel and Ruby Vinson, his wife Karen Vinson, his brothers Ira and Larry Vinson, grandson Matthew Straughter, and son-in-law Scotty Brock. Although his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will forever be cherished. In 1959, Johnny married the love of his life, Karen Eade. Together, they embarked on a journey that spanned over five decades. Sadly, Karen passed away in 2010, leaving behind a legacy of love that Johnny carried with him until his last breath. Throughout his life, Johnny excelled as a renowned Brick Mason, earning respect and admiration for his dedicated craft. His skill and passion were passed on as he taught his children to hone the refined skills of masonry. Leaving behind a lasting memory of hard work and devotion. Beyond his professional achievements, Johnny had a wide array of hobbies and interests that brought him happiness. He had a deep appreciation for outdoor adventures, camping, and hunting. In his leisure time, Johnny enjoyed engaging in friendly competitions of pool and dominoes, showcasing his strategic and playful nature. “Think long, Think wrong!” Johnny leaves behind a legacy of love and a family who will forever cherish him. He is survived by his children Perry (Beth) Vinson, Gwen (Alan) Ables, Micheal (Suzie) Vinson, Danny Vinson, Emily (Jay) Vinson, Jenna Brock, Robert (Larry) Paris, and Keena Vinson. He was also blessed with 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his heart. In honoring Johnny's wishes, a memorial service will be held to celebrate his life and reflect on the beautiful memories he left behind. The beauty of his soul will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Memorial service will be Monday January 29, 2024, from 2pm-6pm at a family residence.
