Jimmy Dale Morgan

On August 30th, 2025, Heaven opened, and God welcomed Jimmy Dale Morgan Sr. in the doors at the age of 69 yrs old. He passed away at home in Benton, AR with his wife Patti Morgan, of 21 years, by his side after a short battle with cancer. Jimmy was born in Pineville, WV on July 12th, 1956, to George and Noca Morgan. Jimmy graduated Pineville High School in 1974. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two brothers Ronnie Williams, Melvin Morgan and a daughter Lanora Gormley. Jimmy leaves behind his wife Patti Morgan, sons; Jimmy Jr (DeAnna) Morgan Greeneville, TN William Sr (Lisa) Morgan, Michael (Michelle) Morgan all of Hinesville Ga Tobias (Jessica) Gormley Hot Springs AR. Robin (Jessica) Gormley Pooler, Ga. Justin (Nina) Wade San Antonia Tx Dakota (Brittany) Foust Hot Springs, Ar. Jordan Copeland and Michael Copeland both of Benton, Ar. Daughter; Alyssa (Chris) Morgan Hot Springs, Ar. Two brothers: Nathan (Jan) Morgan Northside, Al. Terry (Caroline) Williams Pineville WV Sister; Debbie (Leon) Cole Wyoming County WV Father-in-law Bobby (Donna) Avant Hot Springs Ar. Eight grandsons and Eight granddaughters. Many nieces and nephews as well as cousins, aunts & uncles. Jimmy was a hardworking man. He started working around 15 yrs old at a local store. When he graduated high school, he went to work in the coal mines in W Va. He had a child on the way, so he then joined the Army, he was stationed in Ft. Stewart Ga. Later he joined the National Guard. He loved his country. He went to work for Department of Defense on Ft Stewart, where he worked for 33 yrs. He retired Oct 2011, where he received many awards from. After he moved to Arkansas he worked for Family Dollar. He worked until the day he was hospitalized. His boss presented him with a 10-year award at the hospital. He loved his jobs and all the people he worked for and with over the years. Jimmy was a man of Christian Faith. He loved playing music in the church to worship The Lord. His love of music went beyond the church. It started when he was young, listening to the men in W Va play. Through the years he would sit at home & strum on his guitar with his kids & grandkids to Merle Haggard and many other country and gospel songs. Jimmy could play the piano & drums as well as the guitar. He was a part of The Gumbranch Gospel Singers for many years. I know they are playing music in Heaven now. He loved sports of any kind. On their 1st date he took his wife to a 40 and over baseball tournament. They were married on a baseball field. He coached not only his own but many children in baseball. Then he coached his grandchildren, for a few years. He was one of two people who started the Traveling baseball team at the Liberty County Recreational Dept in Hinesville, Ga. He was also a High School Basketball referee. He coached baseball at Majestic Park for three years. The Georgia Bulldogs football team was #1 in his heart even when they weren’t winning. If he was working while they played, he didn’t want to know who won. He would come home & watch it to see for himself. There was a game the day he passed away and Georgia won. We all know he was pulling for those Dawgs in Heaven that day. Jimmy was a man of many words. He loved to talk no matter if he knew you or not. He would find something to talk about. If you saw him out, he would stop and say hello. He was the type of man that would help anyone he could. Everyone who met Jimmy liked him immediately. He accomplished many things in his life. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Randolph, Jayson Watts, William Morgan Jr., Dustin Beck, Justin Wade, & Mia Foust. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Nayneshkumar Patel, Dr. Albert Chinn, Marion Eason, Gerard Fry, Steve Doughman, Jessica & Brooke Young, Rebecca Washington The family would like to personally thank Ronnie and Terri Randolph.
