Clinton Goines

Clinton Eudell Goines, 76, of Norwalk, California passed away January 10, 2013. He was born in Midland, Arkansas August 6, 1936 to the late Lonnie Goines and Anna Leora Fry. He grew up on the farm and went to school at Hartford, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Elaine Belk; one brother, Buddy Cleaveland Goines and two sisters, LaVonne Wright and Irene Bowers. He went to California in 1956 where he met and married Vivian McGill. They had three daughters, Sharon Elaine, Janet Kay and Sandra Lynn. He was in the ministry and preached his first sermon at the age of 14. He and his wife travelled in Evangelistic work throughout Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and California. He also worked at Reliance cash and carry drive thru on Imperial Hwy in Norwalk. He worked at Anthony Pools in the plumbing shop under foreman Leonard Weaver. In 1964 he started in Drywall as a Taper and received his 30 year pin. He loved music. He played the guitar and fiddle. He composed many gospel songs. He pastured three churches. The songs most requested by family and friends for him to sing were Supper Time (a Jimmy Davis song) and Pentecostal Blessing. He was a wonderful minister. His sermons were sincere, sometimes comical and many times brought tears to our eyes. He had to change his address January 10, 2013 while at Kaiser Permanente in Downey, California. He went to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 8:35 AM. Don't worry, he didn't make the trip alone, the angles came and gave him an escort. I'm sure by now; he is with family and friends, especially our daughter Sharon. My darling husband, stay pretty close to the gate and wait for me. I love you and miss you, Vivian. Clinton leaves behind his wife, Vivian McGill Goines; two daughters, Janet Kay Goines and Dr. Sandra Lynn Goines; five grandchildren, Candace Studler, Nathan Belk, Brandon Belk, Randall Belk, and Jonathan Goines; four great grandchildren, Lindsay Belk, Hailey Belk, Maddison Belk, and Allison Belk; four step grandchildren, Brode Navarette, Taylor Navarette, Bryce Navarette, and Ethan Navarette; three granddaughters in-law, Tisha Belk, Jessica Belk, and Stephanie Belk; one grandson in-law, Sean Studler; two sons-in-law, Roger Belk and Shawn Tierney; one sister, Geraldine Phillips; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Friday January 25th at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Services will be 9:30 AM Saturday January 26th at Hot Springs Funeral Home with Reverend C.A. Conrad officiating. Burial will follow at McGill Cemetery.
