Bonita Bennett

Bonita Ann Bennett, 66, of Hot Springs, went Home to the Lord on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012. She was in Mercy Hospital at the time, being treated for heart problems. Her passing was peaceful. She'd been surrounded by friends and family all afternoon sharing in her pleased glow. Bonita is survived by her husband Benny Bennett, four children James Stell-46, Billy Stell-45, Sheri Stell Jackson-40, and Benjamin Bennett-31. She also had eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Suit, with her children and theirs, Gerane Mayo, with her husband and children; adopted brother, Don Glascow. She was predeceased by her father, Rheinhart Miller and mother, Winona Austin Miller; older brother Bill, who suffered a heart attack on his return home from Desert Storm. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she helped in the kitchen with children’s programs, and other occasions. Over the years, she sang in church, been music leader, choir. Bonita was a lady who loved doing for other folks, and felt blessed in whatever endeavors. Bonita and husband Benny, co-owners of Rocky Top Jubilee Family Music Show, enjoyed performing together. She sang as well as doing comedy with him. She was so happy when she could make others laugh, or tap their feet. This otherwise quiet easy going lady transformed into a happy if nutty hillybilly-ette. Bonita enjoyed working on her family Genealogy. She has records for 20,000+ individuals; all tied to family, going back to pre 1500s on some family ancestors, and created Family Albums for all the live family members. Being active with the family and church friends kept her happy, and 'up', even though she was ill. Quiet, easy going, and so full of love for everybody. She was your friend if you talked more than five minutes. Bonita Ann Bennett, quiet, unassuming, and loved by all who knew her. We're Blessed for having been part of her love. Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist, or Heart Research. Bonita loved hugging people-said it makes just a little bit sunshine. She's gone ahead, to offer her own great love to the Master. We were Blessed.
