In Loving Memory of Bobby Avant On June 23, 2026, Bobby Avant peacefully went home to be with the Lord. Bobby was born on April 15, 1942, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Argus and Nora Avant. He graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Donna Avant; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine (James) Randolph and Pauline (James) Herrin; his son, Brandon Matthew Avant Sr.; his granddaughter, Lanora Gormley; and his son-in-law, Jimmy Morgan. He is survived by his daughters, Patti Morgan and Monica Michele (William) Addland; his stepson, Eric Daw; his adopted son, Derrick Avant; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, three nephews, six nieces, and many cherished cousins. Bobby was a hardworking man and a proud Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a faithful member of the Pentecostal church. He worked at Pirelli Cable for 18 years before joining Alliance Rubber Company, where he remained until his retirement. Hunting was Bobby’s greatest passion, though he also enjoyed fishing from time to time. More than anything, he treasured spending time with his family. His eyes would light up whenever he saw his grandchildren. He loved tinkering in his shed, keeping up with the yard even when he probably shouldn’t have and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks in both football and basketball. He also enjoyed watching Rawhide, Gunsmoke, and The Rifleman. Bobby was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. We can only imagine the joyful reunion as he entered Heaven’s gates and was welcomed home by his parents, his sisters, and all those who had gone before him. Pallbearers will be Tobias Gormley, Robin Gormley, Justin Gormley, Dakota Foust, Lane Daw, and Ricky Herrin. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Avant Jr., Jordan Copeland, Michael Copeland, Christopher Herrera, Dr. Faro, and Hospice HomeCare of Hot Springs. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Amanda Haines, his aide, for her compassionate care, and to Kathy Norton for always checking in to make sure he had everything he needed. Services will be officiated by Ministers Steve and April Doughman. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 30, at 1:00 p.m. at Hot Springs Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Avant Cemetery in Avant, Arkansas.
